Měli opravdu zajímavou nabídku a jídlo mi chutnalo.

Mong Kok - one of the pasrts of Hong Kong that can pride itself on the number of markets and shops. I love outdoor markets, so I knew that I had to see that place. I really enjoy watching the vendors, looking at the goods and prices, observing all the people and the uniqueness of everyone. Also, these places offer a good opportunity to buy gifts and souvenirs. I bought a Hong Kong teeshirt for my brother that cost me 30 HKD and a bunch of cell phone fisheye lenses. I found that one stall offered a really good price. I went through the whole market, checked the prices at each stall that sold them and then came back to the cheapest one. It was worth it because I bought it for 20 HKD/piece and there were places where they sold it for as much as 80 HKD. So this is what you need to keep an eye on.
Later that day, we went through the a whole lot of other markets: Ladies Market, Fruit Market, Bird Garden and Flower Market and in the evening we visited the Temple Street Night Market. We could call this a market marathon ;)
One of my favourites was definitely the Flower Market. That was for one simple reason - it smelled so nice! I think that Hong Kong could be characterized as a city of many smells. So this one was by far the best one :) Another place that caught my attention was the Bird Garden - it was such an interesting sight. There were bird cages everywhere, a lot of chirruping and many more or less known birds :)
Another thing of my imaginary Hong Kong bucket list was tasting a real coconut water out of coconut. Before going to Hong Kong, I had a discussion with my brother-in-law about what is really in the coconuts, because what comes to the Czech Republic is something completely different. So I had to get the proof. So we found the coconuts at one markets and tried it. It wasn't anything too special or something that I would call "so delicious", maybe I would have to get used to the taste. But it was alright.
Let's stay with the food topic. For lunch, we went to one of Kallen's favourite restaurants - a Taiwanese restaurantTeawood. The menu was really interesting and I enjoyed the food I chose. I also liked the fact that they had a bottle of tap water on the table free of charge. This is something quite common in Hong Kong (compared to the CR).
For dinner, we met with a friend of Kallen's - Jason, and we headed to asome very local restaurant that made me happy to have two local guides, because I wouldn't understand a thing from the menu. Well, they had pictures of the food on the walls, but still. I did really enjoy the spring onion pancakes. That might be, because it was something slightly more european and I was already fed up with the ubiquitous soy sauce.
Anyway, it wouldn't be us if we didn't end up the day with a dessert. We went to Mövenpick, which is famous for their icecreams, and ordered different things. I tried Earl Gray Panna Cotta with a scoop of icecream (recommended!), Kallen had something with a really long name, and Jason ordered a black sesame paste. It looked scary, but according to him, it was tasty. Let's trust him.
Well, I hope you are not hungry now, but that I gave you a small taste of a fun day in Hong Kong :) Till next time!
