LONDON: Bermondsey Antique Market

Dneska bych vám ráda řekla něco o Bermondsey Antique Marketu

Šla jsem tam v pátek, protože bývá prý jenom v pátek :)

Zjistila jsem, že o něm ani moc Londýňanů neví - jako třeba moje paní domácí, nebo jedna kamarádka, které jsem o tom vyprávěla. Asi ani mezi turisty není tolik známý, což je super, protože tím pádem tam není vůbec přecpáno. On je vlastně takový malý a naprosto mě nadchl :)

Hlavní zboží, které se tam prodávalo, byly příbory. Stříbrné, i jiné. Dále různé šperky, stříbrné, zlaté, sklo, porcelán, brože, staré vějíře, sošky, všechno možný... :)

Na tomto trhu se taky může i smlouvat, což jsem u jedné japonky sledovala :) ale sama jsem to nezkusila. Možná jsem mohla, ale koupila jsem si jen dvě lžičky - každá za libru; a pak ještě perlový náhrdelník (doufám, že je pravý), který byl zlevněný na polovinu. Tak mě u toho smlouvat nenapadlo.

Fotila jsem většinou tajně, protože mi bylo docela blbé tam fotit. Nevím, jestli by to prodejcům vadilo, ale tak divně se na mě dívali ;) :D

Jinak dostala jsem se tam z Bermondsey stanice metra. Chvilku jsem byla ztracená, po cestě byly asi 3 směrující cedulky, což nebylo moc, ale naštěstí jsem měla mapu. Ale možná i doporučuji jít tam z jiné stanice, protože když jsem šla skoro sama jedním tunelem a všechno to vypadalo tak divně, tak jsem se skoro bála. Cesta pak k Temži byla mnohem hezčí, takže doporučuji se tam projít od Tower Hill. Přejdete Tower Bridge a pak už jen jdete rovně, dokud nedojdete k Abbey Road a tam zahnete doprava a vidíte to po levé straně. Anebo můžete jít trochu jinudy - Bermondsey street, kde jsou pěkné malé obchůdky a kavárny. To už je na vás ;)

today I would like to tell you about Bermondsey Antique Market

it's just on Fridays so I went there this Friday :)

I found out that not many londoners know about this market - for example my hostmum or my friend. And it seems that not many tourists know about it which is great because it's not that crowded. It´s actually quite small and I really liked it :)

the main goods sold there was cutlery. Silver and other. Also different jewellery, silver, gold, glassware, porcelain, brooches, old fans, statuettes, and everything else... :)

you can also bargain on this market. I watched one Japanese woman doing it :) but I didn't do it. I could have tried it but I bought just two teaspoons - each for one pound; and also pearl necklace (I hope it's real) which was 50% off. So I didn't think about bargaining.

I was taking pictures mostly secretly because I felt bad taking pictures there. I don't know if the sellers would mind but there were watching me in a weird way with the camera ;) :D

anyway I went there from the Bermondsey tube station. I was lost for a moment because there were just 3 signs on the way telling me the direction and that was not much. But luckily I had a map. But I recommend you to go there from Tower Hill station because as I went from Bermondsey I went for example through one tunnel where was almost nobody and it was so weird and quite scary. The way to Thames was much nicer so if you go from Tower Hill, you can go across the Tower Bridge and then you just go straight antil you come to Abbey Road where you tudn right and soon on the left side you see the market. Or you can go different way - Bermondsey street where you can see little shops and cafés. That's your choice ;)
